BIRTH AFTER CESAREAN
A SMALL COMMUNITY CLASS FOR THOSE PLANNING A BIRTH AFTER CESAREAN
Planning a birth after cesarean is a significant journey that requires forethought and planning. The Birth After Cesarean class is designed to help you feel more prepared, confident, relaxed, and emotionally present as you plan your next birth experience. Without judgment, we will help you to think about what you want for your birth, and how to discuss the issues that are important to you with your caregiver. We will help you gain the tools you need to navigate your options, make informed decisions, and increase your chances of having a safe and satisfying birth.
Location: Monterey Birth & Wellness Center or Full Moon Family Wellness & Birth Center
Time: Saturday, 1:00pm-5:00pm
Fee: $100 per family
SPRING 2018 Class ~ May 19th, Full Moon Family Wellness & Birth Center
Registration and payment must be completed one week prior to the start of class.
Classes require a minimum of three participants.
If we do not meet this minimum, families will be offered a private YBE class (additional fees may apply), or a full refund.
*Birth After Cesarean classes are scheduled as requested.*

Includes:
-The VBAC Education Project curriculum, developed to empower families to make their own decisions about how they want to give birth after a cesarean.
-An innovative approach, designed to promote mental and emotional healing in the aftermath of a birth that ended in the operating room.
-Intimate classes, led by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator.
-Personal availability for support from your instructor, who has experienced a Homebirth Cesarean (planned homebirth that ended in the operating room), and a HBAC (homebirth after cesarean).
Birth After Cesarean Class
This is a refresher class for families who have had one or more prior cesareans, and would like more information and support for a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). In our time together, discussions and practice will include:
- The Benefits and Risks of VBAC and Repeat Cesareans
- Basic Anatomy and Stages of Labor Overview
- Helpful Strategies for Labor and Birth
- Mental, Emotional, and Physical Preparation
- How to Assemble the Birth Team That is Right For You
- Planning a VBAC (hospital, birth center, home)
- Creating a Birth Plan
- Plan C: Prepare for a Cesarean, Without Expecting One
This class offers you and your partner the opportunity to connect, build confidence, practice communication skills, and cultivate a mindfulness-based approach to birthing after a cesarean.
